International Students and ESL Program
Central Valley Christian Academy is devoted to the integration of international students into the English language and American culture through Christian education. We offer I-20, international students the opportunity to learn English as a Second Language (ESL) and prepare themselves for post-secondary education in the United States.
Our ESL class helps students to transition into their mainstream classes. It also prepares students to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) after graduation or during their senior year. Students who seek to enter post-secondary education in the United States must pass the TOEFL in order to be accepted.
CVCA also focuses on integrating international students into American culture. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and classes such as sports, intramurals, art, music, and home arts. CVCA promotes participation in social activities such as Associated Student Body (ASB), community, and church events.
At Central Valley Christian Academy we dedicate our time and efforts to enable our international students to flourish in American culture academically and socially. By building a foundation at CVCA, our students are more prepared to face life as an English speaker.
The Cambridge Network
CVCA has partnered with The Cambridge Network to ensure the best possible international program. The Cambridge Network’s international student program prepares students for life abroad prior to arriving at the school and continues to provide international students with on-going support throughout the school year. International students coming from China, Korea, and Vietnam must work with The Cambridge Network to apply to The Cambridge School.
